Upgrading gear increases its base stats and sometimes increases its other features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements, and how many random augmentations can be applied.

The reroll marker, unlike other markers or tokens that are placed on action spaces, remains on the space till the next success is rerolled. This allows you to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Stage, and can be opened by grabbing them with Interact. Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones that boost the level of an item by increasing its stats and abilities. These items can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a price. In addition, players can get these stones by signing daily contracts.
To upgrade gear, players must first find the item they want to upgrade and then click on the "level up" button. The screen will show a summary of the item's current level and what it will be after being upgraded. It will also show the amount of Growth Stones needed to accomplish this. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade a piece depends on its rarity. Typically rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas uncommon armor requires only one blue or green Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade, the player has to select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. After the player has met the requirements, he is able to hit the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage.
