They are an essential element in crafting and can be obtained by salvaging or buying from vendors. They can also be found as drops, either from enemies or from item spheres. They can be used to upgrade any weapon or armor with an upgrade slot.

Utilizing upgrade components to maximize the amount of experience gained when upgrading gear and weapons is essential to reach the highest degree of progression in the game. The experience multiplier of an upgraded item is increased by incorporating organic components, while mechanical components reduce it. The best combination is a high experience-multiplier organic component followed by a low-experience-multiplier mechanical component. This will maximize the learning experience you get and help you get to the next level.

It's essential to know how the upgrade system works to get the most out of your upgrades. The system keeps a running total of experience for the product you're upgrading. Each component has a positive or negative experience multiplier value, and when the total reaches certain thresholds then it's reset to zero.

The amount of experience gained by every upgrade component can be affected by the item's hidden rank as well as its experience multiplier. The items with higher ranks will be more difficult to upgrade whereas the lower-ranked ones are easier to obtain.

When a new hardware upgrade is installed, it's essential to remove all existing connections and fasteners holding the old component in place. Keep them in a parts tray for easy identification and safe-keeping. Reconnect all wires and cables and connect the power supply. Test the computer by turning on. If everything is connected properly the computer will boot up normally. This is an essential step to ensure the new hardware will work seamlessly with your current system.
